If I want to buy my own hardware what are the requirements?
Microsoft Dynamics Point of Sale Hardware Requirements
The hardware requirements for Point of Sale include:
- Processor: 733 MHz Intel Pentium (PIII) or higher compatible CPU
- Memory: 256 MB of RAM or higher
- Hard Disk Space: 50 MB of available hard disk space for the Point of Sale application and files.
- NOTE: At least 1 GB of available hard disk space on the server for the Point of Sale database and future growth.
- Network Card: 32-bit
Microsoft Point of Sale Software Requirements
Point of Sale supports the following operating systems:
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2
- Microsoft Windows XP Home with Service Pack 2 (For stand alone, single register stores)
- Microsoft Windows Embedded for Point of Service (WEPOS)
- Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Microsoft Dynamics RMS Hardware Requirements
The hardware requirements for RMS Store Operations include:
- Processor: 500 MHz Intel Pentium (PIII) or higher compatible CPU
- Memory: 256 MB of RAM or higher
- Hard Disk Space: 50 MB of available hard disk space for Store Operations application and files.
- Note: At least 1 GB of available hard disk space on the server for Store Operations database and future growth.
- Network Card: 32-bit
Microsoft RMS Headquarters Hardware Requirements
The hardware requirements for RMS Headquarters include:
- Processor: 500 MHz Intel Pentium (PIII) or higher compatible CPU
- Memory: 512 MB of RAM or higher
- Hard Disk Space: 60 MB of available hard disk space for Headquarters application and files.
- Note: At least 1 GB of available hard disk space on the server for Headquarters database and future growth.
- Network Card: 32-bit
Note: Actual system requirements will vary based on your system configuration and the applications and features you choose to install. The hardware requirements given are general guidelines. Consider current hardware on the market for optimal performance and reliability.
For RMS Headquarters:
One machine on the network must act as the database server. This computer must also have SQL Server 2000 with Service Pack 4 or MSDE 2000 with Service Pack 4 installed. Note that SQL Server has its own Minimum Operating Requirements.
Note: Service packs are the means by which product updates are distributed. Service packs keep the product current and extend and update functionality. Prior to each release of software, Microsoft tests it using the latest operating systems, database engines, and other required software components that are available at the time.
